The People Behind the Mission

Alex is our Livestock Manager which means most days she can be found wrangling chickens, polishing eggs, and hatching up plans for our future livestock operations. Alex came to us as a Farmer in Training in spring of 2018 and transitioned to this role in January of 2019. When not found on the farm Alex can be found hiking, biking, kayaking, identifying native plants, knitting, spinning, baking sourdough bread and cooking up fermented food concoctions in her kitchen.

Taylor joined Carnation Farms in 2020, inspired to join the farm’s mission to feed and educate the community. She has dipped her toes in most areas of farming, but livestock is where her heart is! Outside of caring for and cuddling with the sheep and our other animals, Taylor loves learning about any and all homestead related skills – most recently she’s been learning hide tanning and delving deeper into herbalism.
